This program introduces the 14 wonders of the world—seven ancient and seven new—and places them in historical context. Explores the only ancient wonder still standing: the Great Pyramid at Giza. The Great Pyramid contained the tomb of Pharaoh Khufu in a maze of interior corridors. Its purpose was to ensure his immortality. Controversy surrounds theories about the precise engineering and amazing manpower necessary to build it in about 2550 BC (BCE).
